Hydrocotyle nova zealand (miniature pennywort): This isn’t the very invasive H ranunculoides, but a miniature version with a medium growth rate. It is classed as an oxygenator but also looks good planted with just wet feet so that the leaves stand erect rather than floating; it then behaves as a steadily creeping marginal and is good for camouflaging basket edges. Planting depth 0-25cm, height 10cm, indefinite spread.
